Richard was introduced by a fellow volunteer, Mabel, and found the first year gratifying teaching 2 youths - Francis and Joseph. In his second year, Richard tutored both P1 and P2.

Daniel Ngiam is a senior at Regis High School. He has been with Zotung since 2016 and played an important role in creating our virtual learning system. In class, Daniel loves sharing his passion for art with his students

OUR VOLUNTEERS
OUR VOLUNTEERS FORM AN INTEGRAL PART OF OUR TEACHING STAFF. THEY ENSURE THAT OUR CHILDREN ARE NOT LEFT IN EMPTY CLASSROOMS WAITING TO BE TAUGHT. WE HAVE BEEN BLESSED WITH MANY IN-PERSON AND VIRTUAL VOLUNTEERS FROM AROUND THE WORLD. MEET SOME OF OUR HEROES AND SEE WHAT THEY HAVE TO SAY ABOUT THEIR EXPERIENCES.

Bible & Faith Online Teacher
Chris Kim is a junior at Regis High School. His experience as a volunteer has been enlightening, and he is fortunate to have been able to pass some of his religious knowledge to facilitate discussions with students.

Michael Cameron is a junior at Regis High School. As a Catholic, his philosophy is that everyone deserves an education regardless of financial or societal status. He began volunteering with Zotung because he empathizes with the learning center's mission.
"Every week, I see the students improve their academic skills, and I see the students open up socially as they continually participate more often"

Renu learned of ZRCLC through Savera. She has been providing guidance to the students on Microsoft Office such as Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
"The children are fun to be with, they are naughty yet innocent. They are also quick learners and it is really enjoyable teaching them"
ADELINE CHONG
English Online Teacher, Singapore
A partner in a law practice, Adeline also serves as a professional deputy for the mentally incapacitated and as a mediator. With the support colleagues and clients, she has been able to carve out time to teach weekly since 2020.

Jose Galindo is a sophomore at Regis High School. Jose enjoys playing piano, reading and listening to music. He also plays ultimate frisbee for Regis.

Savera is a travel and culture writer with bylines in international publications like BBC Travel, Atlas Obscura, and Al Jazeera.
For her, volunteering during the pandemic was a purpose as she saw children struggling to learn online, and her goal has been to make Maths fun. Sharing the children’s little joys and disappointments and experiencing their unconditional love, has enriched her life in more ways than she thought possible.

WE APPRECIATE THAT CLASSROOM (ACADEMIC) TEACHING IS NOT FOR EVERYONE. HOWEVER, RUNNING A LEARNING CENTRE ENTAILS MORE THAN JUST ONLINE AND IN-CLASSROOM TEACHERS.
